Abstract
The climate crisis significantly impacts the livestock industry, prompting the pursuit of cross-governmental carbon-neutral policies. In response, the livestock sector aims for sustainable pig farming through detailed implementation strategies based on four criteria: specification management, livestock manure management, facility management, and energy-saving technologies. These strategies include the adoption of low-protein feed, low-methane feed, productivity enhancement, and self-mixed feed distribution. Low-protein feed plays a crucial role in improving production efficiency and reducing environmental pollutant emissions, making it the most realistic and effective method for achieving carbon neutrality. Additionally, establishing a database for alternative ingredients to replace the most commonly used corn-soybean meal in pig feed can stabilize feed prices, while exploring options to utilize local food by-products for feed production should also be considered. However, the effectiveness of the aforementioned carbon reduction strategies fundamentally relies on the application of precision nutrition specifications. Ultimately, it is anticipated that the implementation of carbon reduction specifications based on precision nutrition will enhance feed efficiency and reduce environmental pollution in livestock farming, thus contributing to the sustainable development of the livestock industry in the future.
