This paper proposes a voltage control method for reducing torque ripple. Also, the influence of the proposed method on the vibration characteristics is analyzed. First, the torque ripple reduction is confirmed by applying the voltage control method through FEA. As a result, the torque ripple is reduced by about 88 %, but the THD of the current increased, especially the 5th harmonic of the current increases by about 85 %. Therefore, secondly, the effect of the advanced current on the radial electromagnetic force is investigated through the analytical model. As a result, the current changed by the voltage control method increases the electromagnetic force of the lowest vibration order, which has a major influence on the vibration characteristics. The change of the electromagnetic force and the increase of the vibration are confirmed by FEA. and as a result, the vibration at the 4 times line frequency increases by about 77 %.-
