- Abstract
- 우라늄계열 비평형 연구의 중요한 성과 중 하나는 238U-230Th 동위원소 시스템으로부터 중기 내지 후기 플레이스토세 (대략 35만년까지) 화산암에 대한 연대측정이 가능해졌다는 점이다. 화산암의 238U-230Th 연대측정은 전암의 일부나 광물들이 같은 230Th/232Th 비 초기치를 가졌지만 마그마 작용에 의해 U/Th 농도비가 달라진 현상을 이용하기 때문에 필요한 자료는 시료의 230Th/232Th 비와 238U/232Th 비이다. 이 논평에서는 실험실에서 효과적으로 U, Th을 화학 분리하는 방법과 동위원소 조성 분석을 위한 열이온화질량분석법에 대해 기술한다. 또 표준시료와 제주도에서 채취한 일부 홀로세 현무암질 응회암과 용암을 대상으로 현재 한국기초과학지원연구원에 설치된 시료 전처리 설비와 열이온화질량분석기를 이용한 예비적인 분석 결과를 보고한다.
