진주시 도로명주소 ‘돗골로/도동로, 달음산로/월아산로’ 연구

Abstract

경상남도 진주시 도로명주소 가운데 ‘돗골로/도동로, 달음산로/월아산로’ 등은 같은 어원을 바탕으로 한 것이지만 각각 ‘돗골로’와 ‘도동로’, ‘달음산로’와 ‘월아산로’로 되어 있다. 같은 지점을 가리켰던 지명이지만 각각 다른 지역을 가리키고 있다. 또한 ‘돗골로’와 ‘달음산로’는 역사적으로는 근거가 없는 것이기 때문에 더욱 문제가 된다. ‘도동’은 이전에는 ‘저동(猪洞), 저동리(猪洞里)’였으며 저동(猪洞)에 대응하는 전래지명으로 ‘*돝골’이 있었던 것으로 보이지만 <진주지명사>에 ‘돗골’로 수록된 이후로 ‘돗골’로 정착되었다. ‘저동(猪洞)’의 ‘저(猪)’가 ‘돼지 猪’임을 고려하면 ‘돗골’이 아니라 ‘돝골’로 적는 것이 타당하다. ‘달엄산, 달음산’은 ‘달 월(月), 어금나 아(牙)’로 적는 ‘월아(月牙)’에서 추출한 것으로 역사성이 없고 ‘달엄’과 ‘달음’은 진주 지역은 ‘음’과 ‘엄’을 같은 소리로 발음하기 때문에 나타나는 표기 현상이다. 1632년에 제작된 <진양지>에 ‘월아미리(月牙彌里)’로 나타나는 것은 ‘월아산’의 전래지명을 ‘달아미/달애미’를 적은 것으로 보는 것이 적절하다. 월아산의 전통적인 이름은 ‘달음산/달엄산’이 아니라 ‘달아미’인 것이다. 도로명주소는 지역의 전통과 지역의 자연, 그리고 지역민의 정서가 담긴 이름으로 정하는 것이 좋다. 그리고 역사적인 정당성이 있어야 한다. 오류가 있는 도로명주소는 최대한 빨리 바꾸는 것이 좋다.

Since it was recorded, it has been settled as 'dotgol(돗골)', but 'dotgol(돝골)'. Considering that 'je(猪)' in 'jeodong' is '[pig, 猪]', it is reasonable to write it down as 'dotgol(돝골)' instead of 'dotgol(돗골)'. 'Dareumsan, dareomsan' is extracted from 'wora[(月牙]', which is written as 'moon(月), molar(牙),' and has no historal basis, As the 'eum, eom' of 'dareum' and 'dareom' are same sound in the Jinju area, both 'dareum' and 'dareom' are used. The traditional name of Mt. wora is not 'dareumsan, dareomsan', but 'dalami'. The traditional place name of 'wora-san' is appear in 'Jinyangji<晉陽誌>' produced in 1632 as 'wol-a-mi'(月牙彌里). It is better to choose a road name address that contains the local tradition, the nature of the region, and the sentiment of the local people. And there must be historical justification. It is advisable to change the road name address in error as soon as possible.
