- Abstract
- To accurately predict the performance of the torque converter, the shape accuracy of the main component, thepump, was measured using a 3D laser scanning coordinate measuring machine (CMM). Products that met theconditions were tested with dedicated test equipment to determine the speed ratio representing the generalperformance of the torque converter. The torque increase ratio and capacity coefficient were obtained andcompared with the one-dimensional model-predicted performance to calculate the performance characteristics.
The calculation results confirmed that if the shape of the pump satisfied the casting precision range of theproduction drawing, the performance characteristics were within the predicted range.
