Abstract
This study scrutinizes the demand and current status of Korean language education among migrant workers in Gyeongsangnam-do (Gyeongnam province), South Korea, highlighting a notable disparity between need and provision. A survey deployed among migrant workers and an analysis of the existing Korean language education system revealed a robust demand for improved language education, facilitating better communication in daily and occupational contexts. Despite the evident demand, the present system is found to be fragmented and inadequately serving the needs of the workers. The findings illuminate crucial considerations for enhancing Korean language instruction for migrant workers in South Korea, holding significant implications for the forthcoming development of relevant policies and practices within Korean language education.
