| dc.description.abstract | Since the traditional geographical routing protocol and its variants use only single metric in routing process, they cannot handle with several problems such as congestion, network holes and link loss. To solve these problems, multi-metric geographical routing protocol have been proposed, however, most of them cannot adaptively change their forwarding policy according to network conditions because they fail to define the relationship or priorities between multiple metrics. To address this limitations, in this paper, we apply multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) method to the geographical routing protocol to accommodate multiple metrics in a logical way. In addition, we propose a new dynamic priority scheme to select the most suitable next hop by differentiating the priorities based on the network environment. Simulation results prove that our approach can achieve better performance than existing geographical routing protocols in the aspects of packet delivery ratio, end-to-end delay and routing overhead.
