The acetabular cup should be optimally oriented to prevent dislocation and to reduce wear of the bearing surface after total hip arthroplasty. Several techniques such as a mechanical guide and navigation systems have been developed to achieve proper cup positioning. However, optimal cup positioning is challenging. We present a technique of acetabular cup positioning using anatomical landmarks of the acetabulum. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2021.-
