- Abstract
- Excellent self-ignition temperature, high heat/chemical/moisture resistance, highest FST, cheap cost, and ease of processing are only a few of the innovative qualities of thermoset foams that have recently drawn a great deal of interest. The most well-known thermoset foams include polyurethane, phenol-formaldehyde, melamine-formaldehyde, urea-formaldehyde, and epoxy. Insulation, sandwich construction, reinforcement, packaging, and furniture manufacture are all possible uses for thermoset foams. Excellent absorption efficiency and a longer shelf life are envisaged for thermoset aerogels/hydrogels than for those derived from natural resources. An overview of several thermoset foams/aerogels/hydrogels is provided here in its present form, as well as in terms of its potential uses in the years ahead. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
