Abstract This study investigated the effects of sweet wormwood (Artemisia annua L.) in diet on growth performance, feed utilization, body composition, blood chemistry and lysozyme activity of juvenile Korean rockfish (Sebastes schlegelii). Three replicates of fish, each weighing 2.2 g, were provided with one of the following diets: control (including no additives), SWP1 (containing 1% sweet wormwood powder), and SWE0.1 (containing 0.1% sweet wormwood extract). At the end of 60 days feeding trial, the fish fed the Con, SWP1, and SWE0.1 diets showed no significant difference in final body weight, weight gain, specific growth rate, survival, feed consumption, and feed efficiency. The experimental diets did not affect the body composition and blood chemistry of the fish. However, the fish in the SWP1 group had a significantly (P<0.05) higher level of serum lysozyme activity than the Con and SWE0.1 groups. The findings of this study indicated that the inclusion of sweet wormwood in the diet did not have an adverse effect on growth performance, feed consumption, body composition, and blood chemistry. However, dietary 1% sweet wormwood powder supplementation improved serum lysozyme activity in juvenile Korean rockfish.-
