- Abstract
- As the polarization between the metropolitan area and local areas intensifies, the risk of local extinction is increasing. To solve this problem, regions can lead digital innovation focusing on specialized fields and secure global competitiveness and self-sufficiency by disseminating achievements within the region. To this end, selection of the optimal location for a digital innovation cluster is becoming increasingly important in order to increase the country's potential for sustainable development.
As a result of comparing 10 global digital innovation clusters, IT-based universities, research institutes, and leading companies are linked in accordance with the 4th Industrial Revolution, leading to innovative growth in countries and regions. Previous studies also suggest low publicly announced land prices, satisfaction with residential conditions, business activity environment, local economy, and policy support as key indicators.
This study synthesized the success factors and previous research of overseas digital innovation clusters and selected 30 detailed indicators as analysis indicators of settlement conditions, business activities, regional economy, and policy support as digital innovation cluster location analysis indicators. This study compared and analyzed five major metropolitan cities using analysis indicators. As a result, Daegu was found to be relatively superior.
