dc.description.abstractDuring the milling process, interaction between the cutting tool and workpiece can result in a chatter phenomenon. This not only adversely affects the workpiece's surface finish, but also the performance of the machine tool system. Stability lobe diagram is a widely accepted method to prevent chatter, in which the maximum permissible depth of cut is calculated for a given spindle speed. This paper introduces a comprehensive approach for deriving the stability lobe diagram using a simulation model. The method encompasses the dynamic identification of the tool tip, cutting force analysis, and stability calculations. Moreover, while most existing chatter prediction studies focus on slot milling, this paper uniquely offers a method to predict chatter stability, particularly during pocket milling processes.-
