dc.description.abstractThis study presents a method for preventing molding defects that occur during fin molding of long-hole finproducts of heat exchangers. The molding material a 3000 series with an initial thickness of 0.12 mm. Finiteelement (FE) analysis showed that a decrease in the corner R thickness in each firing process could causecracks in the final reflare process. To solve this problem, the cracks were reduced by applying a punch thatgradually increased the radius of curvature of the corner R part as compared with the R value of the straightsection. Based on FE analysis, this could be confirmed through the experimental results. In terms of formability,securing the radius of the punch in the direction of the corner R in the straight section is consideredadvantageous in preventing molding defects in the long-hole fins of heat exchangers.-
