영어 수문문에서 전치사의 수의적 출현에 따른 문장 수용성에 관한 한국인 영어학습자와 원어민 간의 비교연구

Abstract

This paper aims to experimentally investigate the sentence acceptability of English sluicing constructions with prepositions between Korean English learners and native speakers. It further explores the correlation between linguistic processing and detailed sentence effects. It seeks to explore the interplay of complex factors between sentence levels and linguistic processing, beyond the syntactic identity in ellipsis licensing. It also aims to understand the universal language processes, including the interaction with sentence elaboration effects. The experiment result shows that the acceptability becomes significantly higher in the sentence with the occurrence of preposition. Especially for Korean EFL learners, the presence of the subject kukey ‘it’ was found to have an effect on facilitating parsing.
