- Abstract
- The purpose of this study is to describe in more detail the semantic differences between the two forms by making a comparative analysis of the connective ending '-eumyeon' and '-damyeon'. '-eumyeon' and '-damyeon' can be interchange with each other in various situations. From this, it can be assumed that some of the semantic areas of the two forms overlap, but the semantic areas of the two are not completely the same. Therefore, We would like to compare '-eumyeon' and '-damyeon' to examine what kind of semantic difference there is. In chapter 2, The syntactic·morphological characteristics of '-eumyeon' and '-damyeon' are summarized. In addition, we looked at ‘-dago hamyeon’ as indirect quotation phrase. In chapter 3, The semantic characteristics of '-eumyeon' and '-damyeon' are summarized. In this process, the meaning of using 'conditional' and 'hypothetical' within this study was defined. This is because there is a problem that 'conditional' and 'hypothetical' are not defined as accurate academic terms despite their general use in Korean linguistics. Lastly, in Chapter 4, We compared sentences with the same structure in which '-eumyeon' and '-damyeon' to examine what implications were revealed.
