길 떠남’과 ‘시대와의 불화’: 현대 러시아 영화 연구 —국제영화제 선정작들을 중심으로

Abstract

2021 was a year of special significance for Russian cinema. For the first time in Russian film history, two films, Compartment Number 6 and Petrov's Flu, entered the Cannes Film Festival main competition for the first time in Russian film history. In the second competition category, 'Un Certain Regard', there were two films: House Arrest by Aleksei Alekseivich German and Unclenching the Fists by Kira Kovalenko was selected. Among them, Unclenching the Fists won the Grand Prize in 'Un Certain Regard'. In addition, Natasha Merkulova and Alexei Chupov's Captain Volkonogov Escaped was selected in the main competition of the Venice International Film Festival and received favorable reviews. In this paper, the author analyzed five works focusing on the themes of ‘leaving the road’ and ‘discord with the times’. This paper examines several recently released Russian films in the form of a review, rather than an in-depth analysis of one work. Therefore, it should also be pointed out that due to the nature of the thesis, which outlines recently released films, this paper inevitably had to have an informational character to some extent.
