- Abstract
- 본 논문은 나이트가 쓴 “경쟁의 윤리”를 상세하고 심도 깊게 분석했으며, 베블런의<유한계급론> 및 <장인본능과 산업기술의 상태>와 비교했다. 이를 통해 나이트의명시적인 비판에도 불구하고, 두 경제학자의 공통점이 컸다는 점을 확인했다. 특히 욕구나 동기의 성격에 관한 관심, 경쟁적 자본주의에 대한 비판적 평가, 경쟁의 윤리성에 대한 부정적 평가, 불쾌한 비교 및 경쟁적 지출에 대한 관심 등에서그 공통점이 두드러졌다. 이들의 논의는 경제학의 가치판단에 ‘윤리의 문제’를 다시 포함시켜야 할 필요성과 경제 윤리 및 ‘삶의 일반적 목적들’에 부합할 새로운규범의 정립을 촉구한다.
