dc.description.abstractIn this study, a planetary gear train system is designed for an air-start motor used to operate a shipengine. The research and development of such systems are required in Korea to reduce dependency onforeign countries. The purpose of this study is to design a planetary gear train structure that satisfies a highdeceleration ratio of 10:1 or higher and can reduce the speed and output driving torque of a turbine. A geartrain structure is designed, and the strength of the design is evaluated based on the material used. Contactanalysis is performed via micro-geometry modification, and the analysis shows satisfactory results. Additionally, a test is conducted via actual production, and the results are satisfactory.-
