- Abstract
- The physical, chemical and electrical properties of fly ashes emitted from large scale industrial processes such as thermoelectric power plant (P.P.), sinter process (S.P.), cement industry (C.I.), combined heat power plant (C.P.), and municipal waste incinerator (I.P.) were investigated. The major compounds of dust samples exhausted from P.P., S.P. and C.I. were SiO2 (& Al2O3), Fe2O3, and SiO2 (& CaO), respectively. the major component of dust emitted from I.P. was CaO, due to the injection of Ca(OH)2 for the acidic gas treatment. The dust density was mainly related to the composition of samples, and proportional to the amount of inorganic contents. Because dust samples were collected from the precipitated dusts in the particle collection devices, the content of coarse particles was much higher than that of fine particles. The unburned residues were mainly composed of sulfur and organic carbon. The dust resistivity was significantly affected by the dust composition.
