| dc.description.abstract | Cohesive models are increasingly applied to simulate fracture and fragmentation processes in various materials. The multiple-domain boundary element method (MDBEM) may be more suitable than the often-applied finite- element method (FEM) because debonding is also a boundary surface problem. In this study, a modified damage initiation criterion possessing a linear relationship to the MDBEM is proposed for the cohesive model. Numerical examples are presented to demonstrate the validity of this procedure. | - |
