Abstract

Records regarding the ‘Managing/Belonging’ relationship are composed of references to the Main ‘Ju’hyeon/主縣’ units’ administrative titles, and references to the Junior ‘Sok’hyeon’ units’ being categorized(來屬). These records are documented based upon certain past modifications of the local administrative structure, which occurred in the 14th year of King Seongjong’s reign and also the 9th year of King Hyeonjong’s reign. The former is based upon the deployments of local officials, and also contain the changes in Eub'ho titles. There were many sources of information available regarding this modification, and in the process of adding data, errors also occurred. The latter is based upon two sets of resources: the deployment of new local officials was recorded based upon some sources, and the establishment of a ‘Managing/Belonging’ relationship was recorded based upon others. There are some things that are missing as well. Administrative titles recorded to have been established before the 9th year of King Hyeonjong’s reign are included there, because of some gaps in the records or because their titles were the same. In case of the Junior Sok’hyeon units, all the Managing/Belonging(領屬) relationships of the 9th year of King Hyeonjong’s reign were recorded, and in case there was no record, an estimate was made based upon the “Standard” data. In some cases, the modification of Hyeonjong's 9th year was never even mentioned, and only the era of Shilla King Gyeongdeok-wang and the Standard Time point would be compared with each other.
