- Abstract
- We studied sintering temperature to enhance the piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties of 0.98(Na0.5K0.5)NbO3-0.02Ba(Zr0.52Ti0.48)O-3 lead free piezoelectric ceramics. The synthesis and sintering method were the conventional ceramic techniques, and sintering was executed at 1080-1120 degrees C. We found that the NKN-BZT ceramics showed the highest piezoelectric properties and ferroelectric properties at an optimal sintering temperature. The NKN-BZT ceramics sintered at 1100 degrees C showed superior performance, with piezoelectric constant d(33) = 213 rho C/N, and electromechanical coupling factor k(p) = 0.41%. These results reveal that NKN-BZT ceramics are promising candidate materials for lead-free piezoelectric applications.
