- Abstract
- Meta-aramid (m-aramid) nanofibrous membrane for use as separator in lithium ion batteries was successfully fabricated by following an electrospinning technique. The nanofibrous membrane shows high electrolyte wettability and strong mechanical properties. The physical and electrochemical properties are studied using field emission scanning electron microscope, mercury porosimeter, capillary flow porometer, universal tensile tester, drop shape analyzer, and linear sweep voltammetry. The well characterized membrane was used to construct Li/m-aramid/lithium iron phosphate cell that showed good charge-discharge performance with high specific capacity retention.
