- Abstract
- A new deep green-emitting material, a 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl) phenylene-substituted iridium(III) complex, fac-tris[2-(30',5'-bis(trifluoromethyl) biphenyl-3-yl) pyridine] iridium (Ir(mtfppy)(3)), was synthesized. Introducing bulky 3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenylene to the metaposition of pyridyl-phenyl results in blue-shifted narrow emission compared to that of Ir(ppy)(3). The organic light-emitting diode (OLED) based on Ir(mtfppy)(3) shows a maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 23.2% with the CIE coordinates of (0.26, 0.63) without strong microcavity effect.
