| dc.description.abstract | Interest in the safety of rear seat occupants has increased in recent years. Likewise, the evaluation method and the injury standard of NCAP in each region have been changing since 2015. Until today, most studies focused on the safety of front seat occupants rather than that of rear seat occupants, who were only protected by a minimum safety device. Moreover, with a law that makes it mandatory for rear seat occupants to wear seat belts while passing through expressways in Korea, the practice of wearing rear seat belts was expected to increase. Thus, the safety of rear passengers must be studied more closely. This research conducted a comparative analysis for rear seat seatbelt specifications that can satisfy both the occupant injury requirements of EURO-NCAP and seatbelt component requirements of ECE R16 by using the sled test and the collision simulation. Through a collision simulation, we were able to check the performance of seat belts provided by suppliers in terms of the safety of rear seat occupants with less cost and time. ?
