Abstract
The purpose of this study is to construct educational contents on the level of language, thinking, and life by conceptualizing presuppositions from the perspective of its function and the Korean language education. A presupposition is background information shared by language participants as well as a basic meaning for logical meaning. Since the presupposition is a hidden meaning that is not easily displayed on the surface of a sentence, language participants should recall and restore the meaning from a clue. The presupposition education aims to create a mature linguistic self. In order to accomplish this goal, followings should be included in the education of presupposition: to learn how to create presuppositions, to learn how to think logically, and to interpret lives and the world in various ways. The presupposition education enables learners to fully understand and create meaning, to form logical thinking, and to reflect on various aspects of the world and our lives by observing and interpreting the hidden side of meaning.
