- Abstract
- The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of oat diet and aerobic exercise on serum lipid in white rats. The participants were divided into four groups: 1) the oat containing diet + aerobic exercise group (n = 9); 2) the normal diet + aerobic exercise group (n = 9); 3) the oat containing diet + non exercise group (n = 9), and; 4) the normal diet + exercise group (n = 8). One-way ANOVA was conducted to analyze the serum lipid before and after the experiment. The results were as follows: Regardless of diet type, HDL-C was statistically significantly higher for the low-intensity aerobic exercise group than for the no exercise group. LDL-C showed no statistically significant effect in the oat-containing diet and lowintensity aerobic exercise group. There was statistically significant effect of aerobic exercise or oat-containing diet on TG in all groups except the control group.
